Enervantage Taps JGC Philippines
Enervantage, an Independent Power Producer in Capiz Province located in Panay Island has tapped the services of JGC Philippines to do the Capiz Cogeneration Plant Feasibility Study (CCPFS) Project.
The goal of CCPFS is to provide an assessment if the proposed 20MW-capacity cogeneration plant is feasible inside the existing Capiz Sugar Central. The cogen facility would provide for steam and power required in the operation of the sugar mill and export whatever excess power to the local grid of Capiz Electric Cooperative. Bagasse produced by the sugar mill, as well as supplementary biomass fuel such as rice husks, straw, cane trash and wood chips if needed, will be used as fuel for the new power plant.
Included in the study is an evaluation of the current status of the sugar mill and existing power plant, improvement of the efficiency of the sugar mill and its auxiliaries, and ultimately the feasibility of running the cogen plant using the abovementioned fuel both in technical and financial aspects.
This feasibility study that started as of April 2010 was handled by PJO together with Combustion and Electrical Departments and expected to be concluded by September 2010.
