1989-2000

Three decades ago on September 15, 1989, JGC Philippines, Inc. (formerly Technoserve International Company (TIC)) was launched with a compact team of thirty (30) employees and three (3) Japanese expatriates. Within two years, JGC Philippines was able to increase the firm’s capital and manpower, powered by Filipino hard work and ingenuity.

In 1991, JGC Philippines was the first company in the Philippines ever to use Intergraph 3D design machines. The year 1992 saw the first 3D CAD project of JGC Philippines, made possible by the company’s investment in state-of-the-art equipment.

JGC Philippines’ move to establish its own building in Alabang, Muntinlupa in 1994 was a testament to the company’s stability and unwavering commitment to the local construction industry.

In 1996, JGC Philippines achieved ISO 9001 certification from SGS.

In 1997, transition from an engineering production outfit into a world-class EPC contractor, Technoserve International Company (TIC) introduced its new corporate name “JGC Philippines, Inc.”, echoing the company’s strong capability to execute engineering, procurement and construction management operations. In 1999, 95% of the company’s shares were acquired by JGC Corporation (Japan) while the remaining 5% were acquired by Marubeni Corporation, which made JGC Philippines the leading EPC company in the country.

The new millennium ushered in a lot of changes that marked JGC Philippines’ evolution. In 2001, a modern, eight-storey building was built to accommodate the growing team.

2007 – Awarded ISO 14001:2004 compliance and PEZA Registration

2009 – 20th Anniversary of JGC Philippines

2010 – Received Information Security Management System (ISMS) certification

In 2017, JGC Philippines adopted the rectangular logo of JGC Holdings Corporation to signify that we are one with the JGC Group of Companies. By unifying with the global brand, we are internationally recognized.

JGC Philippines has shown its capability to execute larger scale projects by certifying with the Philippine Contractor’s Accreditation Board (PCAB) as a Category AAAA Contractor.

As of January 1, 2022, JGC SINGAPORE PTE LTD has been renamed JGC ASIA PACIFIC PTE. LTD. The company will take on the new role of Asia-Pacific regional headquarters and serve as a base for project execution in Singapore and nearby countries. By supporting the sales and project execution of Group companies in the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Malaysia, JGC ASIA PACIFIC PTE. LTD. will coordinate operations across those companies, as the JGC Group seeks optimized growth across all of its companies.

Staff Training Program

Staff Training Program helps employees learn specific knowledge or skills to improve performance in their current roles, those occupying supervisory functions or those being prepared to assume such role (e.g., Problem Solving and Leadership).

Cadetship Training Program

The Cadetship Program is for new engineering graduates with no work experience. It is designed to build the technical and behavioral foundation for engineers’ professional careers. The training program aims to develop the technical skills and capabilities which will be needed in the real world of Engineering-Procurement-Construction or EPC business.
